As a group of colleagues who had the privilege of working with Clive Barnett during his time as a Professor of Geography and Social Theory at the University of Exeter, we are organising a pop seminar to remember Clive’s work. It will be held on Tuesday 14th July from 2pm-5pm in person at the University of Exeter, followed by drinks after the event. We warmly invite contributions of about 10-15 minutes that reflect on how Clive’s work continues to inspire in different ways through the legacy of his research, theory and practice. The format of contributions is open, but it is meant to be more Pop Theory than The Priority of Injustice. The event is open to academics and friends who want to celebrate Clive as an intellectual and a person. If you would like to attend, please contact Emma Marshall. All are very welcome. We are able to offer some help with travel costs for those who would otherwise be unable to attend. Please feel free to share this with your networks.
I am very sorry that I failed to publicise this event here on Clive’s website, while the deadline for submitting a contribution has past we would very much like to invite anyone with an interest to attend.
